Takayna Trail 2027
Ten runners.
One wilderness.
A team worth building.
A cause bigger than the finish line.
In February 2027, Huperco is taking a Perth-based cohort to the Takayna Trail in Tasmania - through some of the last great temperate wilderness left standing - raising for the Bob Brown Foundation.
Structured coaching. A real deadline. A cause worth the training.
Why this, why now
Because we are capable of more than we think.
Huperco is a Perth performance coaching business built on decades in elite sport. We build athletes. This time, the athletes are you.
In 2026, Huperco leader Brendyn ran the Takayna 37km with his daughter. Five-time Olympian Ed Ockenden completed the 65km. They are all coming back in 2027 — this time bringing a team.
This isn't a bucket-list running club. It's a structured program: real coaching, a real goal, and a genuine cause — protecting the Tarkine, one of the world's last great temperate rainforests, through the Bob Brown Foundation.
"The training required for an event like this doesn't just prepare you for race day. It teaches you how to be resilient, how to commit to long-term improvement, and how to maintain a positive mindset when things get hard. That's the real value."
Part of the team includes Ed Ockenden, five-time Olympian, Tassie legend and one of Australia's most accomplished athletes. In 2026, Ed conquered the 65km course and he will back with us this year.

Fundraising with a target
Each runner fundraises for the Bob Brown Foundation, protecting the Tarkine wilderness the trail runs through.
We’ve an ambitious goal - want to be part of it?
Why Takayna Matters
The Takayna Trail run is the largest fundraising event for the Bob Brown Foundation, an organisation dedicated to protecting Tasmania's ancient rainforests from logging and mining. This isn't abstract environmentalism - it's about preserving one of the last remaining temperate rainforests on the planet.
Beyond Fundraising: Awareness and Action
The event brings people from across the country to experience Takayna firsthand. They run through it. They see it. They feel connected to it. Then they go home and spread the word. That's how movements grow - not through distant advocacy, but through direct experience that creates genuine advocates.
In 2026 the Takayna Trail raised close to $400,000 for conservation.
We're now part of that network of people who've experienced Takayna and will continue to champion its protection.
That's the ripple effect in action.

Our Partners in 2026

This Is Just The Beginning
The experience of training for and completing Takayna has reinforced something we've always believed: sustained physical challenge, when approached with proper support and structure, doesn't just build fitness — it builds character, resilience, and community.
We're exploring ways to bring more people into experiences like this. To combine elite-level training with meaningful purpose. To create opportunities for transformation that extend far beyond the finish line.
